"Quarter Horse Show of the Year 2011 - annulation
As Show organiser of this event, I want to pardon me for cancelling the most important Belgian AQHA Show of the year.
Several reasons underlie this decision. The main cause is insufficient entries on the day after the deadline. I would therefore like to thank all the competitors that filled in their entry form on time, for their trust in our organization. I also want to add that it was a very painful decision to disappoint these competitors. We will do a proper compensation for these riders in the next edition of our Quarter Horse Show of the Year, which hopefully will soften the disappointment a bit.
But I’m also very disappointed in the competitors that have contacted us, or which I spoke during other activities, where I heard that they were also disappointed but didn’t filled in their entry form. Unfortunately the quantity of these riders was almost more than those who had registered on time and correctly, that’s just painful.
Therefore I would like to ask everyone who plans to enter a show or plans to participate in a particular championship TO TAKE STRICTLY ACCOUNT WITH THE DEADLINE and that they fill in their entry form on time. That way you can avoid situations like this and it gives the organizer of a championship a clear view about the number of competitors for that particular show, and helps preventing a cancelation for a show.
You may not forget that an organizer has a limited budget to organize a championship, so there is a minimum number of participants required to do a championship responsibly, and thus to guarantee the future of our sport.
It’s a responsibility that we all must share and bear, if we want to avoid situations like this in the future.
My sincere gratitude for your understanding, but I would like to repeat, success can only be achieved if everyone takes his/her share of the responsibility seriously.
